OVERVIEW
The Automotive Technology program prepares students with the basic knowledge and hands-on skills needed to begin a career in automotive service and repair.
Students will learn automotive tools, shop safety, engines, fuel systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, steering, and other key vehicle systems used in modern automotive service environments.
About Program
The Automotive Technology pre-apprenticeship program is designed to provide students with the fundamentals of automotive service and repair.
The program combines theory and practical hands-on training in a dedicated automotive workshop. Students learn the terminology of automotive tools, operational theory, and the principles and functions of major automotive systems.
Throughout the program, students develop practical skills in diagnosing, servicing, and understanding vehicle systems, while also learning the importance of workplace safety, industry regulations, and customer service.
The program helps students build the knowledge and confidence needed to work in automotive service environments and pursue opportunities in the automotive industry.

Admission Requirements:
• Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
• Students must be 18 years of age or older and pass the program entrance examination
Graduation Requirements:
• Complete all program subjects with a minimum grade of 60% per subject
• Maintain satisfactory attendance of 80% in all courses within the program
