WELDING SPECIALIST

The Welding 1 Specialist / Inspector program prepares students for careers as professional welders and welding inspectors in industrial environments.

Students will develop both hands-on welding skills and inspection knowledge to meet industry standards and certification requirements.

The Welding 1 Specialist / Inspector program is designed to provide in-depth training in both welding techniques and inspection practices.

Throughout the program, students learn major welding processes such as SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and FCAW, along with inspection techniques used to evaluate weld quality. The curriculum combines theoretical knowledge with extensive hands-on training, ensuring students are prepared for real-world industrial environments.

Students will gain knowledge in welding metallurgy, blueprint reading, codes and standards, and inspection technology. A strong emphasis is placed on practical lab training, which forms the majority of the program.

Graduates will be eligible to complete multiple welding certification tests through CWB and TSSA, helping them enter the workforce as skilled welders or inspectors.
